BIO

Angela is a multidisciplinary artist based in Port Orange, Florida, working primarily in ceramics and painting. Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, her work is rooted in a deep curiosity shaped by travel, cultural exploration, and a sensitivity to the natural world.

Today, Angela’s ceramic practice is at the heart of her studio work. Drawing inspiration from coastal landscapes and organic forms, she creates handbuilt vessels and sculptural pieces that evoke erosion, tidal movement, and geological transformation. Her approach to form is intuitive and process-driven, often resulting in asymmetrical contours, soft edges, and surfaces that feel both ancient and alive.

She uses a variety of handbuilding techniques—coiling, pinching, and slab-building—to shape each piece, allowing the clay to guide the rhythm of the form. Angela explores glaze as a narrative layer, combining cone 10 atmospheric firings with electric kiln techniques to achieve subtle, oceanic palettes and textures that reflect the material’s relationship with heat, earth, and time.

While painting remains a parallel practice—offering a space to explore subconscious and emotional landscapes—her ceramic work reflects a tactile connection to place and presence. Across both disciplines, her work invites viewers to slow down, notice, and engage with the tension between permanence and change, function and form.
